Certificate from place of work
A certificate from the place of work is a document that the employer provides to the employee in the event of termination or expiration of the employment contract. The main requirements for this certificate are in the article below.
In accordance with the requirements of the law (Rozporządzenie Ministra Rodziny, Pracy i Polityki Społecznej z dnia 30 grudnia 2016 r. w sprawie świadectwa pracy), a certificate from the place of work must contain information regarding the period of employment (work), full (part-time) employment, the position held, the method of termination of the employment relationship, as well as other data necessary to determine the employee's rights and social security, including information on vacations, etc.
The certificate is provided on the last day of the contract or within 7 days from this day.
If the certificate contains erroneous information, the employee may request that corrections be made to the certificate within 14 days from the date of its receipt. If correction is necessary, the employer issues a new certificate of employment with the actual, current date of issue.
