The new classification of activity codes (Polska Klasyfikacja Działalności, PKD) came into force on 1 January 2025. Companies and entrepreneurs will have 2 years to adapt their activity codes to the new classification PKD 2025.

Companies and entrepreneurs registering in the KRS (National Court Register), REGON (National Register of Enterprises), CEIDG (Central Register and Information on Economic Activity), i.e. starting their business after 1 January 2025, will already use the new classification PKD 2025.

Companies and entrepreneurs who were registered before 1 January 2025 have a transition period of 2 years to update their activity codes, until the end of December 2026. At the same time, any changes to the KRS or CEIDG will require updating the PKD codes in accordance with PKD 2025.

If a company or entrepreneur does not update the record within 2 years, it is assumed that the PKD 2007 codes will be automatically converted to PKD 2025 codes in accordance with the closest analogy approach.
