Working days in Poland in 2026

Working hours in 2026 depend on the number of working days, holidays and days off. More about working hours in the current year – here.

Working hours are the time during which the employee is at the disposal of the employer at the workplace or in another place designated for the performance of work.

The duration of working hours may not exceed 8 hours per day and an average of 40 hours with an average five-day working week in the accepted calculation period, which does not exceed 4 months.

A public holiday in the calculation period that falls on a day other than Sunday reduces working hours by 8 hours. If a public holiday falls on Saturday, the employer grants the employee a day off. In 2026, there are two holidays on Saturday:

In 2026, the working hours will be 2,008 hours, based on 251 working days of 8 hours per day. The distribution of working hours by month is presented in the table below.
