Bonus / additional payment for harmful working conditions
Work in special or harmful working conditions may be additionally paid by the employer. The allowance for special working conditions is accrued to the remuneration for work performed in conditions harmful to health, as well as work requiring significant physical or mental effort, or especially dangerous work.
The allowance for special working conditions is an additional payment in accordance with the conditions established by regulatory acts, a collective (individual) employment contract. This additional payment is an optional right of the employer.
In order to minimize the negative consequences of work in harmful working conditions, the Labor Code provides for the introduction of reduced working hours. For employees engaged in work with particularly difficult and harmful working conditions, the duration of working hours may be reduced by providing breaks in work. The provisions of the Code also introduce the principle that the working hours of employees engaged in workplaces with increased health hazards may not exceed 8 hours per day. The employee retains the right to full payment for the time not worked due to the reduction of his working hours for this reason.
